Doing the Steve Jobs

"Steve Jobs" by Walter Isaacson. If there is only one book you'll indulge in for this year, this is it.

1) A peculiar character - a genius and an asshole. You can be a genius. But u can't be an asshole and expect to get away unscathed without playing the genius part too.

2) Perfectionist and a control freak - awesome qualities to have if you're a genius. End-to-end control was a non-negotiable. It always had to be in his hands, on his terms.

3) Guts and instincts - bulldozed those who disagreed. Only because he knew that he was right.

4) Packaging, product, presentation - you can't discount on these.

I am amazed that Jobs even commissioned a writer to tell his story. To the end he dictated that his story be told but did not dictate the content. As I read through the book I wished there had been more. Towards the last few pages I wished there is more revelation to 'why' he is4, I want to know more...this game changer, this person who made a dent in the universe.

You'll find the e-book here FOC on this app.
