Famed Klang BAK KUT TEH..i've been awaiting this day. So one fine Saturday morning to Pandamaran i go..
1. Yu char koay (translate: oil fried kuey?) served in a small bowl. Check.
2. Claypot-ful of simmering porky parts and porky innards. Check.
Though they did not have pork tail and pork liver. I consume ALL parts.
3. Soup was different. Good different. Bearable herbal. Brownish. Check.
4. But plates, fork and spoon??? o_O'
Klang people eat their bak kut teh (bkt) meal with the plate, fork and spoon. Mind you, it's not the soup plate it's the FLAT plate. Those mutants...
Trouble is I like slurping the fragrant herbal bkt soup. Now from where i come from we have our bkt meals with rice served in individual soup bowl, alongside a soup spoon and chopsticks. I am so accustomed to filling up my bowl with the soup. But when i have it on a flat plate like that my rice looks like it's puddling in some brown sauce. How to enjoy liddat?? -____-
Verdict:
Ambiance was tame. I was expecting crazy crowds from reading up alot about famous klang bkts. Pull factor is weak. Cuz i am your average Penangite looking forward to another gastronomic foodventure. =)

Nguak nguak nguak Mindy! I didn't know you're such a foodie lah. Really. We've never eaten a real foodie meal before have we? And to think we went to the same school most part of our schooldays! O_O

if they served that amount in a BIG bowl, it'd look a bit odd lol
