Wow. i'm lovin' it. (Read article below, Why I Hire People Who Fail).

Lately, it's just been one incidence after another. Stringful of crisis-slash-failure-slash-dotdotdot incidences. The latest, happened just late yesterday. A truck driver knocked into my white car. Estimated damage is RM1,400.

So i'm just gonna say this. I'm lovin it. I haven't had much setbacks lately. So i'm just paying my dues. Though it's been an extremely peculiar 3 months of stolen nokia, toyota bumper knocked, iphone dropped into loo, key scratched toyota (twice!), snatched theft iphone, emo-blackmail, online banking issues etc. I look forward. I choose to believe, the bad spell will end sooner or later. Just gotta wait it out.

My nokia 5800 was stolen at my work place. I headed out immediately to purchase another smartphone. Couldnt do without one. Addicted to scheduling, gps etc. One touch point.

The iP4 fell into the loo a month later. Had it replaced. Then 2 weeks ago, snatch theft incident. Phoneless now.

Should i just go without a phone for a while n calm myself down. Am so not in happy zone now.

Here i am at a crossroad, of thoughts again.
It's been only 5 mths at new place and I'm contemplating of moving on. again.
Don't fit in. Is it my fault? Am i wrong to have such abandonment thoughts. *Guilt reeling.
is it my responsibility to head the ship? Should i take more initiative? Should i drive them like a slave driver? Or should i grovel? I don't like being a task master. I don't like being feared. We are all adults. There shouldn't be confrontation of any sorts. What's worse, i don't feel connected.

Should i remain, should i move on?
Remain, what can i do to squash my doubts.
Move on, how should i explain my short stints.

I just want to curl up in a corner and play dead.
Maybe i'm just a drama possum.

i was composing a note on facebook when i joked about his 'yellowness'. He then outrightly demanded that i should love him even if he's black.

in my defense, i wasn't being a racist. I was merely pointing out how 'yellow' has so much significance in our relationship.

An itch

Martian invasion!

Prior to 1 March, i wasn't sure if I am relationship material. But there was a martian invasion and it's been 2 months now.

The martian underwent a probation for about 2 weeks and here are some things i learned about the martian.Tell me now if i'm mistaken.

Martian carries tissue packs with him - all the time.

Martian gravitates towards 'good-looking numbers' like 1402 (V-day) so it's easier for him to remember important dates.

Martian grows quiet when something bothers him and sometimes broods like a mama chicken.

Martian always tidies up after himself - is neater and tidier than me x 7.

Martian spends a good 5 minutes clearing his desk before he leaves work - EVERY DAY.

Martian is disciplined in keeping to deadlines.

Martian usually arrives early (if late, due to me)

Martian colour coordinates the push pins at his work space.

Martian doesn't like the great outdoors.

Martian enjoys traveling westward.

Martian laughs with me, not at me.

Martian is great at listening to what others have to say.

Martian likes perfume a lot.

Martin is happiest when gets to sing his heart out.

Martian enjoys his long showers (20 minutes longer than me).

Martian likes styling his hair - wears his hair in trendy styles.

Martian is careful about his weight but craves for cakes, chocolates, puddings, brownies, cookies, cupcakes, toffee etc.

Martian tells me every day that he loves me.

So how does one show that one cares for a creature such as the martian? I am open to suggestions. :)

PS - Martian ALWAYS go home for food if Mama Martian has cooked! Isn't he just the cutest ever?? :P

i am such a procrastinator. hands down. submission is lesser than 1.5 days away and here i am. lazing in bed, stalking facebook and knowing i should get to my report. Reasons why i should buck up
1. will have better ability to schedule for chillouts
2. keep focused on work during weekdays. so critical as i begin at new work place since 1 April
3. it's my final semester!!!! (last opportunity ever to prove that i can be a disciplined person!)

when will i ever learn?

P.S. - do NOT eat at Soon Soon Lye fish head noodle @ Bandar puteri puchong. Expensive, sucky broth and pathetic pieces of meat thrown in. what the fish!

So a really good friend asked me what's up. why's my blog non-moving for so long? All i could say was "i'm madly in love" to which she says that she feels that everyday with her husband. wow.
These days i'm just smitten and tongue-tied. i had a whole lot more to say when i wasn't seeing anyone special. i guess 'misery loves company'.

So Chocolate-y girl, i will try my bestest to consistently write something here..

14th Feb - We went out for a proper date. He drove. There was a pizza place, a piece of cake and chocolates. At the end of dinner, he brought up the BGR question. i wasn't sure.
1st Mar - Fourteen days later, i was sure.
8th Mar - "A relationship isn't official until it's on facebook." So we switched the relationship status to link both our profiles.
14th Mar - He gave a pendant as a 1-month into the relationship gift. i forgot it was 1 month already. instead of kicking up a fuss, he was just happy that we've got each other.

No one guy has treated me this way before. So to all the girls out there, if a man does not know how to treat you like a lady...he is not worth your time, tears and thoughts!

he has a big heart, is a gentleman, considerate and prioritizes me. i am so lucky to have met him. :)

Afro Kitchen - yummy jallof

I had the most amazing nigerian yummy food @ Afro Kitchen, USJ (Nearby Court 10). Pics may not look amazing but i so *heart* the jallof rice. A tinge of spiciness. Beats the jallof at Rainforest (quote me!)

Don't expect ambiance. Expect:
- price to range about RM30 per meal.
- a certain kinda smell to the place
- plastic chairs and foldable tables on smooth ceramic tiles (hint: slippery!)
- expect other diners to be looking you up and down
- starts late at 3p-ish til late

How-are-you-hope-u-doing-well text is always with good intentions, right? We always bargain that it meant well, that texting him/her (once too many times!) is because we're concerned.

But really, it does more harm when it's unwelcomed text. We still want to keep in touch, we still want to remind him/her that we're still around. So what's the balance? A text a day? A text a week?

Ah gah, take a chill pill and wait out a week. maybe that itch to text will disappear by the turn of the week!

Planting paddy seedlings

I dreamt that i was planting paddy seedlings. I pressed the end of the seedling in to the super soft black ground, humus. Not the water paddy fields. Weird right, i was so sure it was paddy seedlings. Then i progressed to the next and the next and so on. there was a pattern to the small squared area. one big seedling right in the middle, with 3 tinier ones lined up on its left, and its right.

Wonder what the dream says? Though seeds are meant to be a good sign. I quote "To dream of seed, foretells increasing prosperity, though present indications appear unfavorable."

Oh gosh. To be honest, there is something at the back of my mind but i can't mention it here not talk much about it. Only time with the passing of events will allow mentions of it. I hope i can stay sane, calm, cool, collected til then.

And it's completely healthy to want something more than just the present. The future is undefined until we take hold and start to act like we own our future and then plan.

So, can i say i plan 2011 to be greater than the years before? Oh my, what responsibilities and work lie ahead!

Broga trip

Went on a family trip to Broga. Had been bugging them for the longest time before they said "yes" to "wild meat". Yay! "Amazing things happen when you say YES".

We saw the rabbit farm - please don't go. It is not worth going and rabbit meat, is so bland and expensive over there!

We saw the temple which was made into a tourist destination - how, why, huh! It's free entry anyway, so just drop by in. :)

We did not climb the famous Broga Hill.

And the reason for the trip made....wild meat!! It was a quaint little kampung/village looking place. People were so laid back, no helmets on motorbikes. More motorcycles than cars. Dusty tarred road, wooden houses. Slacker dogs strolling about/lying around. Kampung-ness to the max!
I would reveal the location here, but i'm not sure about the legalities etc. issues. So yummy, cannot risk them being shut down! And doesn't burn a hole in the pockets at all. RM70-ish for 3 persons. Any takers for this place, drop me an email. We'll happily go together-gether ok, oiks!

Visited the doctor's today and scored MC for 2 days

I've been having a constant throb in my head for the past 2 weeks. Apparently i'm not having proper rest, coupled with the work stress.

I reckoned the stress is triggered from the work load. Not from my studies but yes, it has caused a rippled effect and for the first time i am actually stressing about the assignments. The laidback feel to when the deadlines are just around the corner has gone. blablabla but Clara is a good student blablabla. I say semesters of repeated waves of submission causes one to be numb to the impeding deadlines. So yes i haven't been feeling any sense of urgency about deadlines for assignment nor exam deads. In actual fact, it's the same for now except for the throb in my head. still no sense of urgency.

Anyway so i visited the doctor's just now, and was prescribed some sleeping pills. Low dosage. All in all, 5 biji. 1 biji, 1 malam. kisah benar.

Mossy Forest @ Cameron Highlands

A trip that was made in June 2010.

Mossy Forest was awesome! It is definitely the more interesting place to visit since if someone's been CH a few times before. After the first 2 times. the pasar malams at Tanah Rata, Brinchang etc etc (sorry if i've got the names wrong, never been great on geography) steamboat stories, fresh vegs and BOH plantation...they are all well...just there. Difference is that BOH erected a lookout point / breakfast/cafe area. (Cut throat prices, food not at par with the price tag). Traffic has increased by so much that you get jammed up on the weekends just to snake from one little town to the other, post-dinner.
The pasar (markets) are more or less by the same vendors. Fresh strawberries and corncobs are a must get, and the cili that will skyrocket you off this planet. By the way, gave the said kick-ass chillies to a girlfriend and look what her ma did - harvested the seeds and reproduced more little habanero! Productive people!!

Mozzy Forest located inside Batu Gangan Forest Reserve.

It is said to be the highest peak at Cameron Highlands, some 2,031meters above sea level.

To get there:
- Make sure you've got a 4WD
- or get a tour guide
- good pair of sneakers are not necessary if you're not hiking your way up. There are steps to climb but not too many though.

Entrance is suited just across Equatorial Hotel. A steep climb at some points but nothing a 4WD can't do. If you're in a Kancil....god bless.

My super genius smart Singaporean cousin is in town. No pun intended, really. He's really smart, top of his class, health conscious fit!, jolly etc. Medical student.

Anyway he tells me that running in 6 cycles of 30secs spurt, 1min jogs burns FAT. Jogs burn carbs.
I need to do something about my jogs. next week onwards. maybe next month. :)

Black Canyon Coffee

I googled for the above mentioned and apparently the review says this:
"Black Canyon’s excellent reputation is based on serving coffees of the highest quality, with the best aroma and taste, made from 100% fresh coffee beans imported from around the world, as well as those grown in Thailand under Royal patronage."

Could possibly be true about the coffee etc. The place does serve some Thai food which is pretty decent. (there's a kick-ass place in PJ. A blog for another day!)

The point of the post is this... the coffee served there, WITH the food saves my weekend-classes! It isn't many lunch/dinner places that you get good aromatic strong coffee. I drink only at Hainanese coffeeshops, Starbucks and other coffee places. So, salute to Black Canyon Coffee for a wide choice of coffee to compliment the meals!

Nigerian food...i think!

Went over to Rainforest Cafe & Bistro at Sunway Pyramid a little over a month ago. Had a crazy craving for jallof rice so girlfriend suggested Rainforest, where they have an African chef. Which parts of Africa... i'm not sure! Food is food is food. ;)

Jaloff rice with beef stuffs.

More parts of the cow.

It was spicy. Flavourful. May be a tad too strong for some who are not 'adventurous' with food. A good place for some African flavour and good ambient with music, clear walkway, drinks etc. I should include pictures here right... :)

There's another African food place that I've gone a few times when the cravings hit. Will write on that another time.

Little dark corner

I have a little corner where i go to and stay there until i feel better. The corner is dark, it's at a corner and it's little. It's a corner where my jaws are stuck, i don't want to say much, and i wish time will just freeze. My mind will be racing 1,001 thoughts but the words are stuck inside my head. No i don't think i'm borderline psychotic. I just need a little quiet time sometimes.

So if i don't blog as often, please don't think i've died. Just take it that i've gone on a vacation - on another planet! :)

I dreamt i was admiring a glass bowl of beautiful fishes. They were the japanese fighting fish. Perhaps about 10 to 15 o them in the bowl, all swimming peacefully. Some just below the water surface, others by the side of the glass. The middle was empty.

Then out of nowhere, a wrist appeared and stirred the bowl. I was annoyed and said HEY! grabbaed the wrist and pushed it off. But the damage was done because the fishes had already started to flare their fins, tails and gills at each other. it's like they were all about to enter into a fight.

And then i woke up. What's my dream about??

A Wedding Toast to dear friends - Mr&Mrs Fishy Pants

My hands were trembling in front of 500 odd guests, had to grab onto the microphone holder thing so i didn't feel like a tremor was happening. =P

The speech:

“Love; a temporary insanity, curable by marriage.”

Ladies and gentlemen, Good evening.

Ai-Leen and I, we went to the same school since 7. As for Andrew, he was the boy in Chemistry tuition in batik shorts - Blue. Indigo pants, with white fishes, hairy legs in shorts. From then on, he was Fishy Pants. We became friends through the years. So of course I am HONOURED when they asked me to be part of this wedding. That was the first thing I felt. The second thing I felt was DREAD. I have to give a speech. Well, here goes.

First of all, to those who do not know Ai-Leen, she is what you would describe as a cili padi! You know what they say about cili padi(s). Smallish but power packed. She’s full of energy, always on the go, detailed, a project manager and never looks back.

Second, ADVENTURE. She’s always looking for the next big thing to do. Today I can impress friends and acquaintances that i’ve done White River Rafting only because Ai-Leen organizes adventure trips like this!

And thirdly, Ai-Leen taught me that good friends are hard to find, and that friends are more important than boyfriends. Wow, now that she’s getting married, I wonder if that will still hold true over husbands? I hope so! You see, we are travel buddies. We’ve gone to Cambodia and Cameron Highlands together. It’s not a long list yet but this I know, it will be a life long tradition. Yes?

Even though we see each other only sparingly now, whenever we are together again, we pick right up from where we left off, and it always seems as if we haven’t been apart at all. I’m not sure how we started our friendship, but i’m glad that we are still dear friends until this very point. And for the record, I envy them because they are each other’s dear friend / travel buddy / and confidant.

I look so forward to the future of these two. They are a perfect match, and I know they will remain not only lovers, but friends, for all of their lives. They just seem to have that certain certain something about them, and i know that theirs will truly be – a match made in heaven.

While preparing for this speech, i was thinking hmm, there has to be some sort of advice written in. Not because it’s precious opportunity to drill Andrew with hundreds guests as witnesses.. but more so because it is just customary. So what advice to give to a metrosexual guy who reads Ai-Leen’s CLEOs. Here goes.

#1 - For most women a good cry is like a good nose-blow: when you have a cold, it just clears your head. Men just don’t get it when it comes to the emotions. He learns s-l-o-w. Don’t try to advise yet. Just LISTEN and lend a shoulder.

#2 - There is a belief that men talk three times lesser than women in a day. So say if woman uses 21,000 words then men would use only 7,000 words. The typical scenario is this, when man comes home from work at night and has used up 6,850 words. So with only 150 left over, he just wants to relax and not do more talking. And then the woman welcomes the husband when he comes back with about 7,150 words left over. And that is where all the problems start.

# 3 -Behind every great man is a great woman. ONE. Andrew!

All things considered. So Andrew and Ai-Leen I need you to stand now. Andrew, please hold both your right hands on top of hers and look her in the eyes. Take a moment to feel how it feels..because this will be the last time that you have the upperhand.

Ai-Leen, listen to me. No matter what, Andrew is the right guy. If you have a problem come talk to me.

My wishes for Ai Leen and Andrew are that they have a continued loving friendship and partnership, that they enjoy success and laughter, and that they always see and talk with their heart. Let today be the building block for all the years to come.

Oct 6 — Ancient peoples developed and ritualised mourning practices to express the shared grief of family and friends, and together show not fear or distaste for death, but respect for the dead one; and to give comfort to the living who will miss the deceased.

I recall the ritual mourning when my maternal grandmother died some 75 years ago. For five nights the family would gather to sing her praises and wail and mourn at her departure, led by a practiced professional mourner.

Such rituals are no longer observed. My family’s sorrow is to be expressed in personal tributes to the matriarch of our family.

In October 2003 when she had her first stroke, we had a strong intimation of our mortality.

My wife and I have been together since 1947 for more than three quarters of our lives. My grief at her passing cannot be expressed in words. But today, when recounting our lives together, I would like to celebrate her life.

In our quiet moments, we would revisit our lives and times together. We had been most fortunate. At critical turning points in our lives, fortune favoured us.

As a young man with an interrupted education at Raffles College, and no steady job or profession, her parents did not look upon me as a desirable son-in-law. But she had faith in me.

We had committed ourselves to each other. I decided to leave for England in September 1946 to read law, leaving her to return to Raffles College to try to win one of the two Queen’s Scholarships awarded yearly. We knew that only one Singaporean would be awarded. I had the resources, and sailed for England, and hoped that she would join me after winning the Queen’s Scholarship.

If she did not win it, she would have to wait for me for three years. In June the next year, 1947, she did win it. But the British colonial office could not get her a place in Cambridge.

Through Chief Clerk of Fitzwilliam, I discovered that my Censor at Fitzwilliam, W S Thatcher, was a good friend of the Mistress of Girton, Miss Butler.

He gave me a letter of introduction to the Mistress. She received me and I assured her that Choo would most likely take a “First”, because she was the better student when we both were at Raffles College.

I had come up late by one term to Cambridge, yet passed my first year qualifying examination with a class 1. She studied Choo’s academic record and decided to admit her in October that same year, 1947.

We have kept each other company ever since. We married privately in December 1947 at Stratford-upon-Avon. At Cambridge, we both put in our best efforts. She took a first in two years in Law Tripos II. I took a double first, and a starred first for the finals, but in three years.

We did not disappoint our tutors. Our Cambridge Firsts gave us a good start in life. Returning to Singapore, we both were taken on as legal assistants in Laycock & Ong, a

thriving law firm in Malacca Street. Then we married officially a second time that September 1950 to please our parents and friends. She practised conveyancing and draftsmanship, I did litigation.

In February 1952, our first son Hsien Loong was born. She took maternity leave for a year.

That February, I was asked by John Laycock, the Senior Partner, to take up the case of the Postal and Telecommunications Uniformed Staff Union, the postmen’s union.

They were negotiating with the government for better terms and conditions of service. Negotiations were deadlocked and they decided to go on strike. It was a battle for public support. I was able to put across the reasonableness of their case through the press and radio. After a fortnight, they won concessions from the government. Choo, who was at home on maternity leave, pencilled through my draft statements, making them simple and clear.

Over the years, she influenced my writing style. Now I write in short sentences, in the active voice. We gradually influenced each other’s ways and habits as we adjusted and accommodated each other.

We knew that we could not stay starry-eyed lovers all our lives; that life was an on-going challenge with new problems to resolve and manage.

We had two more children, Wei Ling in 1955 and Hsien Yang in 1957. She brought them up to be well-behaved, polite, considerate and never to throw their weight as the prime minister’s children.

As a lawyer, she earned enough, to free me from worries about the future of our children.

She saw the price I paid for not having mastered Mandarin when I was young. We decided to send all three children to Chinese kindergarten and schools.

She made sure they learned English and Malay well at home. Her nurturing has equipped them for life in a multi-lingual region.

We never argued over the upbringing of our children, nor over financial matters. Our earnings and assets were jointly held. We were each other’s confidant.

She had simple pleasures. We would walk around the Istana gardens in the evening, and I hit golf balls to relax.

Later, when we had grandchildren, she would take them to feed the fish and the swans in the Istana ponds. Then we would swim. She was interested in her surroundings, for instance, that many bird varieties were pushed out by mynahs and crows eating

up the insects and vegetation.

She discovered the curator of the gardens had cleared wild grasses and swing fogged for mosquitoes, killing off insects they fed on. She stopped this and the bird varieties returned. She surrounded the swimming pool with free flowering scented flowers and derived great pleasure smelling them as she swam.

She knew each flower by its popular and botanical names. She had an enormous capacity for words.

She had majored in English literature at Raffles College and was a voracious reader, from Jane Austen to JRR Tolkien, from Thucydides’ The Peloponnesian Wars to Virgil’s Aeneid, to The Oxford Companion to Food, and Seafood of Southeast Asia, to Roadside Trees of Malaya, and Birds of Singapore.

She helped me draft the Constitution of the PAP. For the inaugural meeting at Victoria Memorial Hall on 4 November 1954, she gathered the wives of the founder members to sew rosettes for those who were going on stage.

In my first election for Tanjong Pagar, our home in Oxley Road, became the HQ to assign cars provided by my supporters to ferry voters to the polling booth.

She warned me that I could not trust my new found associates, the leftwing trade unionists led by Lim Chin Siong. She was furious that he never sent their high school student helpers to canvass for me in Tanjong Pagar, yet demanded the use of cars provided by my supporters to ferry my Tanjong Pagar voters.

She had an uncanny ability to read the character of a person. She would sometimes warn me to be careful of certain persons; often, she turned out to be right.

When we were about to join Malaysia, she told me that we would not succeed because the UMNO Malay leaders had such different lifestyles and because their politics were communally-based, on race and religion.

I replied that we had to make it work as there was no better choice. But she was right. We were asked to leave Malaysia before two years.

When separation was imminent, Eddie Barker, as Law Minister, drew up the draft legislation for the separation. But he did not include an undertaking by the Federation Government to guarantee the observance of the two water agreements between the PUB and the Johor state government. I asked Choo to include this. She drafted the undertaking as part of the constitutional amendment of the Federation of Malaysia Constitution itself.

She was precise and meticulous in her choice of words. The amendment statute was annexed to the Separation Agreement, which we then registered with the United Nations.

The then Commonwealth Secretary Arthur Bottomley said that if other federations were to separate, he hoped they would do it as professionally as Singapore and Malaysia.

It was a compliment to Eddie’s and Choo’s professional skills. Each time Malaysian Malay leaders threatened to cut off our water supply, I was reassured that this clear and solemn international undertaking by the Malaysian government in its Constitution will get us a ruling by the UNSC (United Nations Security Council).

After her first stroke, she lost her left field of vision. This slowed down her reading. She learned to cope, reading with the help of a ruler. She swam every evening and kept fit. She continued to travel with me, and stayed active despite the stroke. She stayed in touch with her family and old friends.

She listened to her collection of CDs, mostly classical, plus some golden oldies. She jocularly divided her life into “before stroke” and “after stroke”, like BC and AD.

She was friendly and considerate to all associated with her. She would banter with her WSOs (woman security officers) and correct their English grammar and pronunciation in a friendly and cheerful way. Her former WSOs visited her when she was at NNI. I thank them all.

Her second stroke on 12 May 2008 was more disabling. I encouraged and cheered her on, helped by a magnificent team of doctors, surgeons, therapists and nurses.

Her nurses, WSOs and maids all grew fond of her because she was warm and considerate. When she coughed, she would take her small pillow to cover her mouth because she worried for them and did not want to infect them.

Her mind remained clear but her voice became weaker. When I kissed her on her cheek, she told me not to come too close to her in case I caught her pneumonia.

I assured her that the doctors did not think that was likely because I was active.

When given some peaches in hospital, she asked the maid to take one home for my lunch. I was at the centre of her life.

On 24 June 2008, a CT scan revealed another bleed again on the right side of her brain. There was not much more that medicine or surgery could do except to keep her comfortable.

I brought her home on 3 July 2008. The doctors expected her to last a few weeks. She lived till 2nd October, 2 years and 3 months.

She remained lucid. They gave time for me and my children to come to terms with the inevitable. In the final few months, her faculties declined. She could not speak but her cognition remained.

She looked forward to have me talk to her every evening.

Her last wish she shared with me was to enjoin our children to have our ashes placed together, as we were in life.

The last two years of her life were the most difficult. She was bedridden after small successive strokes; she could not speak but she was still cognisant.

Every night she would wait for me to sit by her to tell her of my day’s activities and to read her favourite poems. Then she would sleep.

I have precious memories of our 63 years together. Without her, I would be a different man, with a different life. She devoted herself to me and our children.

She was always there when I needed her. She has lived a life full of warmth and meaning.

I should find solace at her 89 years of her life well lived. But at this moment of the final parting, my heart is heavy with sorrow and grief.

i like travels but i cant very well go on any right now
1. time - due to work.
2. money - set back by an impromptu trip to UK a while back
3. study - i need time + collect money for my edu fund

Work is always on my mind. it's constant, on-going, and getting to be a pain. I cant sleep some nights. i wake up in sweats on other nights. deadlines after deadlines, plus deadlines from semester endings now and exams approaching. sometimes i can't breathe.

So i've started to run again, despite my weak knee. Sometimes the physical pain helps to block the emotional pain, and the pain in the mind.

There is always something to do. When is enough? Know my limits and organize my time. 6.30pm, take off office conscious and put on the party hat. Right.

PS - 24 hours. Everyone has the same quantity of hours. How to find more time? BE MORE ORGANIZED. *exasperated* Was reminded of this truth at the company's Retreat Planning on Friday/Saturday.

I have come some distance in the past 3 months. I can multitask more, retain more information in my 'intermediate term memory' (because it's not short like a day and given a month from now, i would had forgotten!). I'm not very organized, I admit that but give me some credit. I am more organized than the first day I walked through that beeping door right?

At the rate work is spinning..boss, i will mutate! I swear one of these days when you do your evening rounds and when you walk up to my desk to greet with that famous line of yours 'Is everything ok here?', a giant mutant spider will greet you.

Fast burning wick

How does a burnt out feel like? Does the spark in your heart get snuffed out, and you say you're just tired from a full day's work. Does it feel like the light bulb above your head is switched off, and then you excuse yourself for not being able to head discussions. Your tongue is tied, but you say you're speechless. Really how does a burnt out feel like?

More importantly, how can i pace myself so that i don't burn out? Because right now, i can feel that the wick is short and it's burning fast!

Yet i felt rich. Far richer than today.

How can i manage my time better?

On some days, I half wish i can sprout extra pairs. Then i realize i would look like a spider. That's icky.

I think i resemble more of a sotong. Blur half the time. I've upped my coffee intake. But i suspect coffee ain't strong enough this time. Up intake more..?

How can i manage my time better? I haven't blogged as consistently as i would like. Perhaps make blogging a ritual, like 5 minutes every 3 days. or so.

I was at The Gardens shopping mall just now with four other colleagues. Singapore counterpart sent the marketing person over to train me. She's staying at Cititel Hotel until end of the week. Hence, i did a little shopping after dinner at the mall. Small items really but damage done was at RM200.

Anyway, as i left the gardens i got lost a little. Headed towards bangsar town and turned into a Lorong Maarof somewhere. That looped me into a housing/inner road. Ended up/out nearby to malaysiakini's office. Dejavu. i was just there last Wed morning.

Finally got out of bangsar
via NPE too. NPE stands for New Pantai Expressway which is a bloody cut throat of TWO tolls at RM1.60 each, and with the shortest distance ever.

So a triple longer route to get home and 1.60MYRx2 poorer for nothing really.

Sigh, the curse of this city.

I felt suspected of entering with the intention to illegally stay on. WTF. Happened at 7.45am (London time). 5 minutes of 'interrogation' at the clearance counter, with many people passing by and watching my 'encounter'. My FIRST impression of UK. Here you go:

Officer: How much do you make?
Me: RMx000
Officer: Do you have a job in malaysia?
Me: *deng already* Yea...
Officer: What's your job?
Me: A marketer
*20 seconds in silence, officer scrutinizing my documents*
Me: *trying to make small talk* So...are these the standard questions?
Officer: *eyes crossed, eyebrows furrowed and sternly stated* You don't get to ask me questions. I ASK the questions. Not you.
Me: OK. *backed off*
Officer: How much are your tickets?

i need to confess something.

i enjoy hindi movies. A lot. So on 1st May 2010 i celebrated labour's day in bed, with Amitabh Bachan and Salman Khan (my real love is shah rukh khan. but that's should b another post altogether ; )
Then i googled Amitabh Bachan. Dang. He looks better with age and facial hair.
Here's what i like about Bollywood productions:
1. Gorgeous bodies
Drapped in colours, lined up in rows moving to the beat in unison. Wriggly butts, flying hands.
2. Picturesque landscape
They romance across the continents and never forgetting the landscape - from India to Paris, to Venice, to Scotland, back to India. green meadows, snowy mountain tops, cafe streets... mmm.
3. Sporadic english words
Makes me, the viewer, gasp inside "oooh english!"
4. Mamiji, nai yi, ari... i know hindi!
Connection with the viewer
5. Unexpected wisdom

Then i googled Chris Daughtry. Dang. He looks better without hair.

So that's how i spent labour's day. No work, no loading work mail on outlook, no blackberry, no school, no studying, no lecture notes.
